The Black Hawk College Livestock Judging Team ended the 2021 season with a tremendous win at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, KY.
The sophomore team took High Team Overall in the 2021 NAILE Junior College Livestock Judging Contest, winning the contest by 40 points.
Other team results included:
- High Team Reasons – All five team members finished in the Top 10
- High Team Cattle
- High Team Performance Cattle
- High Team Sheep – Set a new record for the contest
Individual results included:
- Emma Dunn of Tipton, IN – High Individual Overall, 6th in Reasons, 5th in Cattle
- Dillon Sheiss of Larwill, IN – 2nd High Individual Overall, 1st in Reasons, 1st in Sheep, 2nd in Breeding Sheep, 7th in Cattle, 2nd in Swine Reasons
- Kelly Spicer of Woodbine, MD – 9th Overall, 10th in Reasons, 5th in Swine Reasons
- Ty Drach of Pontiac, IL – 7th in Reasons, 4th in Cattle
- Robby Burchett of Jonesville, VA – 9th in Reasons, 7th in Sheep, 6th in Breeding Sheep
The team is coached by Dr. Blake Bloomberg and Tim Hubbard. The BHC Livestock Judging Team last won NAILE in 2004 when Bloomberg was a member of the team.
