When you download the application packet, you will find detailed instructions on how to apply to Black Hawk College and the steps to becoming a student in the United States. Be sure to read all information carefully. If you need additional information, please contact us.

It is also required that students interested in getting an F1-Student Visa send their scores in one of the following English language proficiency tests:

TOEFL – minimum –IBT 50, CBT 143, PBT 550 (*)
PTE – minimum 42 (*)
IELTS – minimum 5.5 (*)
Duolingo – 85 (*)
(*) Scores must be from the last two years

Already applied? Next steps

Refer to your I-20 or DS-2019 form for dates to report to Black Hawk College. Once you arrive on campus, you will need to take the placement test and attend new student orientation before classes start. We can also help you with payment options and information.

Application Deadlines

Depending on when you want to start classes, all required documents must be received by the deadline.

Fall semester (mid-August): April 1

Spring semester (early January): Oct. 1

Summer (early June): Feb. 1
