Our 2+2 agreement with Western Illinois University provides a transfer degree path for students interested in earning a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics: Data Science & Statistics (Macomb) (PDF).

Mathematics Department Highlights

Math-Related Careers

Students taking courses in the Mathematics Department go on to careers in many fields, including data statistics and analytics, engineering, nursing, actuary sciences, or have decided to teach math at a multitude of grade levels. The department even has two faculty members who are proud BHC graduates.

Personalized Learning

The Mathematics Department provides many of the courses needed for a mathematics major or minor at a four-year college in a supportive, collaborative environment. All of the classes are small with less than 30 students. This creates a more personalized learning experience and a tight-knit classroom with dedicated faculty, greatly enhancing student success rate.

Calculator Rental Program

Students at both BHC campuses are able to rent graphing calculators through either bookstore or the Academic Service Center at the Quad-Cities Campus. Supplies are limited, so secure yours today.

Free Tutoring

Free tutoring is available online through your Canvas account as well as face-to-face, personalized tutoring with math faculty at both campuses.

Learning Assistant

As a Learning Assistant you’ll have a great opportunity to experience college-level instruction from the front of the classroom!

Student Clubs

Faculty serve as advisers for math-related clubs, which offer students opportunities for field trip and campus events.

  • Math Club – Quad-Cities Campus
  • Sci Pi Club – East Campus
  • Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
  • Pi Run (3.14 miles) – Quad-Cities Campus
