Congratulations to the Black Hawk College baseball team for finishing the regular season undefeated in conference play!
The Braves won the NJCAA Region IV Arrowhead Conference with a 20-0 record in the conference and a 42-11 record overall.
As of May 17, the team was ranked #9 in the NJCAA Division II national poll.
Sophomore infielder Cayle Webster from North Scott (IA) High School was named the Arrowhead All-Conference Team Most Valuable Player.
Six other Black Hawk College players also were named to the Arrowhead All-Conference Team:
- Drew Davis – Illini Bluffs H.S. (IL) – infielder
- Colin Bruce – Benet Academy (IL) – outfielder
- Chance Resetich – Hall H.S. (IL) – outfielder
- Johnny Hernandez – Plainfield South H.S. (IL) – catcher
- Brandon Roth – Normal West H.S. (IL) – designated hitter
- Payton Lawrence – Dixon H.S. (IL) – pitcher
Next up for the Braves is the NJCAA Region IV North Central District Division II Tournament May 20-22 at Madison College in Madison, WI. They will face Kankakee Community College at noon Thursday, May 20.
