A 1960 MG owned by Scott Shnurman of Silvis, IL, won the President’s Choice award at the Quad City’s Vintage Rods’ 49th/50th Annual Car Show at the Quad-Cities Campus.

A 1961 Metropolitan owned by Lowell St. Clair of Bettendorf, IA, won the Police Choice award. Pictured with St. Clair is Black Hawk College police officer Chris Fiems who selected the winning vehicle.
The Sept. 26 show featured more than 400 antique cars, hot rods, street rods and special interest vehicles owned by club members and other collectors from around the Midwest.
Gate admissions go to the Quad City’s Vintage Rods scholarship through the Black Hawk College Quad-Cities Foundation.
Since 1984, the rods club has given more than $80,000 to the foundation and has donated to the college for more consecutive years than any other organization.
For the 2021-22 school year, seven Quad City’s Vintage Rods scholarships totaling $4,350 were awarded to Black Hawk College students.
