Our student-athletes and coaches bring their passion and teamwork to every game. Not an athlete? We love our BHC fans. Together, we can create a college experience that’s full of school spirit on and off the field.
Black Hawk College belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 4. The region includes men’s and women’s sports at 28 northern Illinois two-year colleges and three southern Wisconsin two-year colleges.
Our newly-redesigned facilities ensure that our student-athletes play and train in comfort and technology. Amenities for students and spectators help everyone feel like the M.V.P.
The new, lighted baseball and softball stadiums on the QC campus feature fully turfed infields, outfields, hitting cages and throwing lanes. Each has concrete dugouts, stadium-style seating and a dedicated press box, sound system and permanent streaming camera. Between the two stadiums are heated restrooms and a heated concession stand. Nearby is the new soccer field with a natural sod playing surface, bleacher seating and its own permanent streaming camera and sound system.
Our brand new indoor athletic facilities in Building 3, feature state-of-the-art training spaces such as our turfed indoor practice area, retractable hitting cages, golf simulator, hitting bay and undulating putting green. After practice, athletes can recoup in our sports medicine room home to three treatment stations and a hydrotherapy whirlpool. For game days, we have both home and visiting team locker rooms with showers, restrooms, lockers and a game officials’ changing room.
The newly-developed fitness center sports two walking/jogging lanes, cardio equipment (treadmills, elliptical gliders, recumbent bikes, upright bikes, rowing machines and a stair climber), a plate-loaded/free weight section and selectorized strength training equipment. As an added bonus, the fitness center has vending machines, lock boxes and 24/7 security camera monitoring.
