Emily West Marketing Ambassador

Biography

Hello! I am Emily West, and I am in my first semester at the East Campus. I chose Black Hawk East for its small class sizes, knowledgeable professors, and the variety of clubs and organizations it offers, some of which I want to become involved in. I am currently a Student Ambassador, in the Student Government Association, and on the Soil Judging Team. I grew up on my family’s fourth-generation crop farm and am extremely involved with my community in my county. In high school I created a project which entailed teaching my entire elementary school – 375 kids – about agriculture once a month. So, I skipped a lot of high school work to teach! This project inspired my future after BHE which is to transfer to Iowa State to become a secondary agricultural teacher. I have always loved being a part of recruitment projects and just showing our communities how their students have fun and learn on a daily basis!
