The Phi Theta Kappa chapter at the Quad-Cities Campus recently presented the Golden Apple Award to a well-deserving faculty member.
Although the physical ceremony planned for April 26, 2020, had to be canceled, the chapter created a virtual ceremony and announced this semester’s award selection:
- Jodi Becker, assistant professor of child development and co-chair of the Health and Human Services Department – nominated by Sarah Martin
Phi Theta Kappa members were asked to recommend a faculty or staff member for the award. The chapter’s officer team selected Becker from the nominations.
“As my professor … she has gone the extra miles to be accommodating during these strange COVID-19 times,” Martin wrote.
“She is very responsive when I need help or encouragement. She has also been very flexible with deadlines, which is helpful because I have a toddler at home. I really appreciate her and am grateful to be one of her students.”
Becker will receive a Golden Apple pin and a gift. The chapter thanks the PTK students who nominated faculty and staff members for this award and congratulates Jodi Becker for being recognized by her student as an excellent educator.
