Congratulations to the recent graduates of the Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) at Black Hawk College!

The Illinois Department of Transportation created the 450-hour program to prepare people to work in construction and to increase the number of minorities, women and disadvantaged persons working on IDOT projects. There is no cost to participants who are selected for the program. Students receive a stipend of $10 per hour.
The Black Hawk College program has the second-highest placement rate of the 14 HCCTP programs in Illinois. Of the last 30 BHC graduates, 80 percent have become apprentices. Graves joined the Ironworkers Local #111 after completing her 10th week of training.

The next HCCTP begins Monday, Feb. 26 with orientation sessions Nov. 16, Dec. 13, Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Jan. 18, Jan. 23 or Jan. 26. For more information, visit the Highway Construction Careers Training Program.
