Students and faculty members in the Physical Therapist Assistant, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology programs recently participated in a new interprofessional collaboration student project.
It involved a case study with many aspects of care and collaboration with a patient who had a hip fracture, following the patient from surgery to acute care to a skilled nursing setting.
Guest patients were BHC employees Abigail Swidergal and Penny Grunder along with ADN professor emerita Charlotte Powell and her husband, Dan Powell.
“It was fun and we look forward to expanding interprofessional education with more programs involved in the future,” said Dianne Abels, program director and professor in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
